Day Sail

Drat. The Elusive was unable to compete in this year's regatta down in Wiarton. It had a broken car on its genoa track.

That's some sailor jargon I learned today to help explain why we didn't race. The "car" is like a railcar that floats on a series of bearings on a track. It's a block that can be moved around depending on sail size or wind conditions. It's apparently a necessary tool when racing. And apparently its bearings were blown out.

Tim told me all this today. Only increases the mystery of the race for me.

Glen and I took it out for a day sail. More of a "sailing lesson," actually--but a great time on the water mucking about in a sailboat. Super fun. No race for me, but I am grateful for the trip to Lion's Head.

Got a good shot of Glen's house at dusk--with a streetlight firing up the goldenrod in the yard...
