Florida Vacation

Night one. Savannah Georgia. Grey and coolish--but the azaleas are in bloom. Sunshine here we come.

Carrie and I are embarking on twelve days away, in the afterglow of our respective birthday celebrations. Mine was big and public and fat with poetry and music and fire dancers at the Plant. Hers was quiet with a few friends in the hot tub at the Burrow.

Now to paddle, and sun, and get lost in the wilds of south Florida.

On an earlier trip to Greenville, we passed this falling down Exxon sign near Manning, South Carolina. This time, instead of speeding by it in the Tesla, I was able to get out on the side of I-95 to snap this photo.

Here's to the hydro carbon economy slowly coming to an end.

And to a glorious mid winter escape from the grey and the chill that can occasionally accompany a North Carolina February...

Love the teetering post on that sign. How fun to get away. Every winter I have fantasies of walking south until I can feel my fingers.
